Committee of nine set to oversee selection

A committee is officially in place to guide the process of choosing a new mascot for ASU, according to Robert L. Potts, chancellor of ASUJ. Potts accepted the recommendation to retire the names "Indian" and "Indian Family" after reviewing the recommendation letter from Jim Pickens, Chair of the Mascot Review Committee.

Personal diarist to President Clinton, Janis Kearney will teach two special-topic courses in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences this fall.
Kearney served as the personal diarist to President Clinton for five years, from 1995-2001. Kearney's position is the first time in history a president made such an appointment.

The Comfort Inn is no longer home to 72 Arkansas State University students. The students, placed at the hotel on ASU move-in day, Aug. 18, were checked out on Friday, according to Comfort Inn staff late Saturday
night.

What time is it? Back-to-school time, and while life is a musical for high school students everywhere, it's one big epic drama for us college scholars.
Rising tuition, book fees, room and board, or lack thereof has caused many students major headache.
Several students were put up in hotels because there was no space left on campus.

Matt Murphy, the lucky man who snagged Barry Bonds' historic 756th homerun ball, has announced he will put it up for auction later this month. The online auction run by Sotheby's/SCP Auctions will run from Aug. 28 through Sept. 15. Murphy is hoping to bring in at least half a million dollars with the sale.
