The fans were ready, the teams were ready, but in the end, Mother Nature wasn't ready for the Arkansas State and Memphis rematch. After a full day of tailgating, thousands of fans were filing into Indian Stadium for the 6:05 kickoff when torrential rain and lightning began.

Arkansas State's losing streak of 11 games is now dead and buried. The Lady Indians defeated Texas State Sunday in overtime by a score of 3-2. "It feels fantastic," ASU head coach Derek Pittman said. "It's a big huge monkey off our back to get that first victory.


Freshman starring for Lady Indian volleyball

Don't tell Christin Baker that freshman can't come in and make a difference. She'll beg to differ. The Edmond, Okla., native is now a starter on the Arkansas State volleyball team. However, Baker knew gaining a place in the starting lineup was something that would not be handed to her.
