Whether they're going on vacations, internships, working, or getting ahead in school, most students already have summer planned out.

Many students are focusing on earning money to help pay for school, and some are also getting career experience.

"Hopefully, I'll be working with my aunt at a dental office," said Jake Davis, a freshman Biology and Pre-dental major from Piggott.

Internships are a great way to see and be around professionals in the workforce. Students can get great references and even potential permanent employment.

"I'm doing an internship at WREG in Memphis," said Raime Reed, a junior radio-TV major from Blytheville.

Another, popular money making option, for many students can be a fun and rewarding opportunity, is working as camp councilors. For some students this is a chance to be real role models for kids and a fun way to earn extra cash.

"I'm working at Kanakak, the most amazing Christian youth camp," said Brittany Wilson, a junior biology major from Newport. "It's based around sports and outdoor activities; it's really awesome."

Athletes are dedicating time to physical improvement, and gearing up for a new season as ASU Red Wolves.
"I'll be here for the summer session and I'm doing basketball workouts," said Shania Hurst, a freshman accounting major from St. Louis, MO.

"I'm gaining 15 pounds over the summer because I'm an athlete," said Jeremy Thomas, a freshman accounting major from Jonesboro.

Family fun sometimes comes first, and summer break is no exception. Summer break sometimes adds up to vacations as well.

I'm going to be having a good time with the family on a family vacation to Florida," said Jessie Foster, a sophomore education major from Memphis, TN.

Although many students will be experiencing the vacation side of summer others are continuing their education, by taking summer classes, not only here at ASUJ but at other intuitions across the state.

"I'll be doing the same thing I did for the past two semesters, school and football," said Jaquan Kilcrease, a freshman from Nashville, Tenn.

No matter what students are preparing to do for the summer the general consensus is that they're all excited about what the summer as to bring and are making sure they take every opportunity before coming back for the fall semester.
