The school year is almost over. But before students celebrate the end of the year they have to take their final exams. Cramming for those exams? Really depending on that last final grade? Here are some study tips to help prepare.
First, it is important to know that all students study differently, no two study alike, some people study in groups better and some individually.
It is recommended by some sources to form a study group. People in a study group can help each other out. They can divide up the work, openly discuss questions, and check each other's work
"I always study in groups, I have found that if I don't I won't get anything done," Laura Militoni, a senior marketing majoring said. "I also like how there are people to keep me on top of things and stay disciplined."
Group work may not be everyone's thing and so they choose to study individually. They can write up a study schedule, which will help them get the maximum use of their time because they can see it on paper. Students should study when they are rested, alert and have planned to do it. They should study in a place where sounds, lighting, and temperature can easily distract them. Individuals studying alone must stay disciplined, they are their own teacher and can easily say no to studying.
" I like to study by myself little by little throughout the week and cram the night before the test then look things over in the morning," Chelsea Hopkins, a junior accounting major, said. "I score average grades."
Whether students are in a group or not some good study tips are: don't panic and stay relaxed, outline your text and notes; find what is most important to you, do your homework, it helps you in the end, breakdown all of the work so you are not overwhelmed when it is test time, don't rush and use your time wisely, it is beneficial to take notes by hand, it helps you remember what you are writing, get a good meal and lastly review, review, review. Some things you did not know about studying:
Baroque music helps improve learning, and lastly according to www.adprima.com/studyout, a night of drinking before a test puts you a whole letter grade below what you would have had.
