Years since President Franklin D. Roosevelt established the Civilian Conservation Corp. The CCC began as an unemployment relief program. Five Arkansas state parks share that anniversary. Those parks include, Petit Jean, Crowley's Ridge, Devil's Den, Mount Nebo and Lake Catherine.

State parks in Arkansas. Petit Jean State Park is the oldest in Arkansas. It had its start in 1907 when a lumber company deemed the area unsuitable for logging but good for a national park.
