Anyone interested in a hands on approach at working a NCAA sporting event may want to consider joining the Sports Management Club.

Since late December, the club has sent members to three NCAA sanctioned events: the Valera Alama Bowl, the SEC women's basketball tournament and the South Region of the men's NCAA tournament.

The club sent three students, Mark Taylor, Nathon Lewis and Aaron Hammonds, to San Antonio for the Alamo in December.

"Being a part of the Sports Management Club has allowed me to make contacts within the field of sports management and gain valuable experience through volunteer opportunities," Taylor said.

The club then waited until college basketball post season to volunteer at the SEC women's tournament in Little Rock and the men's NCAA tournament in Memphis.

Club members present in Little Rock inluded Taylor, Billy Walton, John Riley, Katey Buckley, Chris Hannah, Grant Brock, Zach Jarratt, Spencer Bennett, Adam Garner, Bryan Lee and Dr. David LaVetter.

Members volunteering at the men's South Regional in Memphis was Taylor, Walton, Hammonds, Lewis, Rile, Toni Inboden, Chris Buttgen, Jarratt and Brock.

Anyone interested in information on the club can email management@yahoo.com or visit http://education.astate.edu/sportmgt.
